INTENTIONAL STORYTELLING
When is the last time you had a photo taken that truly captured who you are?
We see plenty of “snapshots” out in the world - you know the ones - the pictures that capture a moment in time, but lack the feeling, context, or authenticity of the subject.
At Matter Co. my goal is to capture portraits that stop you in your tracks.
Portraits that tell a complete story in a single frame.
The kind that make you say, “I feel seen.”
From intimate portraits that document your special milestones, to content for small businesses that turns potential customers into lifelong fans…
I’m here to tell your story, whatever it may be.

Capturing the moments unique to you
YOUR STORY MATTERS
Whether you’re hoping to document a special time in your life like an engagement, or want to get family photos, or a professional portrait for the first time in years (er… ever!), this is the place for you.
We’ll work together to determine what you want out of the session, what feelings are important for you to convey, and how I can help bring that vision to life.
MY STYLE
I want your session to be a comfortable and enjoyable experience. I know being in front of the camera can feel odd if you don’t do it often, that’s why we work together beforehand to determine what is important for you in your session.
As we shoot, my goal is really to be present with you and capture you as you are.
The only thing you need to do, is be yourself.

You’ve invested so much into your business, let’s help your customers feel invested in you
Stop potential customers mid-scroll
Beautiful imagery can help take your brand to the next level. The difference between a quick shot on a cell phone camera and a thoughtful, professional photography session is that your customers will inherently want to spend more time on the image, and in turn, with your business.
People. Process. Product.
Giving insight into these different areas of your work not only makes you and your business more relatable, but it makes potential customers want to root for you. That emotional investment is key in making potential customers, loyal customers.
So how does it work?
Let’s talk! I want to hear why you got started in your business, what drives you, what’s important for you to portray, why now is the right time to invest in photos that speak to the essence of your business and how you envision using these images. We’ll plan a shoot based on your priorities and needs. From there, I’ll edit your images and deliver the final high-res files via a private online gallery.
I have my new photos - now what?

Testimonials
“Katy is amazing! We have used her to capture several of our special family moments (engagement, newborn, family), and each time she has captured the sentiment and beauty of the moment perfectly. Katy has a knack for making you feel at ease and bringing a personal vision to life. Getting your photos taken can feel awkward and unnatural, not with Katy. She is easy to be with, playful and has the ability to capture beautiful photos quickly.”
–Nicole Mcknight
“From the minute I reached out to Katy, she was professional in every way. She was quick to schedule me in, asked all the right questions to get the vibe right for our shoot, and made the process stressless. When we finally made it to our shoot site, she was so bubbly and made me feel comfortable in front of the lens. Katy does a great job giving suggestions without being pushy. A few hours after our session, she sent me a preview and I just felt at ease that I got to work with Katy for my maternity shoot. I know I will be working with this gal again in the future and I would surely recommend her to anyone looking for a fun photoshoot.”
— Kayla Rodriguez
“Katy is able to capture genuine emotion in her photos. It probably helps that she makes you feel instantly comfortable in her presence and keeps the shoots fun and lighthearted. We were lucky enough to have her take our engagement photos as well as shoot our wedding. She truly captured our love story, as well as the love felt by our friends and family. She will always be our first choice for all photography needs!”
— Stephanie and Andrew Patota
“Katy has a serious talent of being able to capture my passion for pottery. She took the time to get to know me and my craft and it shows big time in her photos. Katy has a way of bringing my pots to life in scenes that I can only dream they would be in. Since working with Katy, I have been able to increase my following on social media by having quality content to post regularly. She has given me many great ideas of how to engage followers and make social media more personal. Not to mention, we also have a blast every time we shoot!”
— Nikki Mathews, Owner, Take Shape Ceramics
“Katy is absolutely fabulous. I was very nervous to have professional photos taken because I have small crazy kids, wanted my pets to be included and am generally uncomfortable with taking pictures. Not only did Katy make us feel comfortable and relaxed, she captured absolutely stunning photos of my family. I couldn’t be happier and am actually looking forward to next year.”
— Kat Reisinger O’Neil
“My family has hired Katy to be our photographer for more than 5 years now. We first hired her to take our pregnancy announcement pictures! Since then, she has taken our family pictures every year, as well as our son’s first birthday party. I know we will be using her for our daughters birthday parties too! She is kind and has a warm and calming presence about her. She makes you feel relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera. TRUST us because we do not like our pictures being taken, but Katy has something magical about her photos. We wouldn’t hesitate to call Katy for any of our photography needs.”
